poke-comrades!

Here are a few quick designs for a re-imagining of Pokemon in Soviet Russia. The look started with inspiration from Golden Books and Soviet-era illustrations and went forwards from there. In my version, Ash and Misty are two kids that discover magical creatures in the woods surrounding their rural town but are terrorized by Mewtwo,a Soviet uber-monster experiment gone wrong that has escaped the facility. Woohoo!

Kiki's Delivery Service- Adventure Time'd!

Some final inks before coloring! The assignment was to reimagine characters in a Miyazaki film by setting it in a new location and in the style of an existing animated feature. I picked India and Adventure Time.

very (very very) loose photoshop paintings

So. This blog was originally what I showed around as a portfolio, but I've decided to just make it a general work blog. That said, here are some super loose compositional/color/value paintings I did. Look at them from far away with your eyes all blurry and pretend I'm baller.

One of these sketches above may become a painting, in the legit sense.

Photoshop Paintings

Some paintings I did from photos I took- my boyfriend's room, and a house in Echo Park.

3D Model Stills

Two bottles, modeled, shaded, and rendered by yours truly.

Oil painting

A portrait of my incredibly loving dog, Bean. She's been chasing parked sofas since the day she was born, so now I feel a little closer to understanding how the great portrait painters of the Renaissance must have felt. As Rembrant once said, 'If you can't make em beautiful, make em lumpy and dignified.'

animal caricature- 2010

Assignment: Draw yourself as an animal. This work spawned more out of my seemingly perpetual (and embarrassing) flush than any actual affinity to alcohol.
